Peaceful schooling fish that should be kept in a 6 pack. They like dark and fine sandy substrate that is not too sharp because they like to search for food in it and their tender barbels can be easily damaged. The aquarium should be densely planted. It is omnivorous but prefers small live food. Frozen and dry food are accepted as well.
For breeding you need more males and females.
Female lays up to 30 eggs, in groups of 3 to 5, on the glass or on any other substrate.
When the young fishes are swimming free you can feed them with rotifers. A week later you can give them fine crushed dry food.
